Tong Pan (dir. by Yutthana Mukdasanit, 1977) is a docudrama that served to mobilize collective action in the environmental student movement of the 1970s in Thailand. It follows the story of a student activist from Bangkok who travels to Thailand’s northeast to attend a seminar on the construction of a mega-dam project. He walks around, looking for local people to also participate in the seminar, and meets a farmer who lost his land due to the  construction of a previous dam. The film re-creates a seminar that actually took place in 1975 to discuss the proposed Pa-Mong Dam on the Mekong.
