Energy Dispatch
Johanna Mehl is a designer, design scholar, and educator interested in the larger material and immaterial systems that shape design practices and that design in turn propagates. She holds a B.A. in Communication Design from the Niederrhein University of Applied Science, Krefeld and an M.A. in Art and Design Studies from the Folkwang University of the Arts, Essen. Besides her artistic and curatorial practice, she has taught in the fields of media and design theory at different design schools across Europe and worked as the coordinator of the M.A. program Integrated Design at KISD (Köln International School of Design). She recently started a research associate position at Technische Universität Dresden, continuing her Ph.D. research on design paradigm shifts in the anthropocene.
Prof. Dr. Moritz Ingwersen
Moritz Ingwersen is Professor of North American Literature and Chair of Critical Future Studies at Technische Universität Dresden where he also serves as a principal investigator of the interdisciplinary research project “Transformative Place-Making for Uncertain Futures” (2022-2025). He is the co-editor of the book series Critical Futures (forthcoming with transcript in 2023) and of special issues on elemental ecocriticism and anthropocene temporalities. His publications include a forthcoming book on the work of Neal Stephenson (forthcoming with Liverpool UP) and articles on intersections of the environmental humanities, speculative fiction studies, STS, and energy imaginaries in Canadian Literature, Configurations, Extrapolation, Humanities, and American Studies.
